Dayton police are investigating a possible marijuana grow operation discovered Wednesday evening on McReynolds Street.
According to police radio traffic, officers were called to 68 McReynolds just before 7 p.m. on a report of a shooting. A dispatcher told officers that an individual called 911 and said his brother had been shot.
When officers arrived, they did not find a shooting victim, but soon called for drug detectives.
News Center 7 has a reporter and videographer on the scene who report seeing officers carry a bag full of suspected marijuana plants out of the house. They also report that there is at least one person in custody in a police cruiser.
We will report more details on this developing story as they become available.
A woman who reported being robbed while at work Tuesday is now facing charges for allegedly making the whole story up.
The woman told police she had just collected cash from a customer at Cottman Towing on East Third Street when a man jumped out of the bushes, pushed her down, and took $280. She said $200 of that money was hers and $80 belonged to the company.
When investigators interviewed her, they reported that the story did not make any sense. According to a police report, the 32-year-old female cracked and admitted she made the story up after a detective fabricated a story about a surveillance video camera.
She said she lost the money, but also admitted that she is a heroin user. She said she is trying to get clean and get her children back, according to the report.
She was issued a summons to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business.

HUBER HEIGHTS – A female driver of a red pickup truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday when her truck was knocked on its top after a sedan collided with it at the parking lot to Aldi’s on Brandt Pike.
The truck was headed north on Brandt in the curb lane at about 4:40 p.m. when a gold Cadillac pulled out too far as it exited the grocery store at 6353 Brandt and hit the passenger side of the truck, Huber Heights police Lt. Mark Lightner told News Center 7.
“There was nothing the driver of the red pickup truck could really do,” he said.
The truck rolled and came to rest on a sidewalk, on its top. The driver, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital, Lightner said. The driver of the Cadillac was not injured.
